Monaco – To mark the start of the “Top Marques Monaco” motor show today,MANSORY is unveiling another model based on the current Mercedes G-Class(W465): the “MANSORY Azura”.

As the Mercedes G-Class ranks among the mostsought-after base vehicles for complete conversions in high-end vehiclecustomisation – alongside the Lamborghini Urus and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan –the launch of a further variant of the Mercedes G-Class was an obvious step.

In addition to the “MANSORY Speranza”, no fewer thantwo of the eight Mercedes G-Class derivatives from MANSORY are now available asconvertibles, thereby once again underpinning MANSORY’s claim to be afull-range provider in the high-end

MANSORY Azura | BODY CONVERSION

Converting the "MANSORYSperanza" base into a two-door convertible requires extensive bodymodifications. Converting a four-door convertible into a two-door convertibledemands significantly more effort, as the "MANSORY Azura" requiresnot only the actual convertible conversion but also the extension andmodification of the doors to so-called "suicide" doors – i.e., doorshinged at the rear of the B-pillar.

As the vehicle roof is aload-bearing part of the bodywork, the entire vehicle structure must becomprehensively adapted. Various body reinforcements (in the frame and sillareas) are therefore used to fully compensate for the lack of torsionalrigidity and provide the vehicle with the necessary stability.  As this convertible is also a fully off-roadcapable vehicle, which, due to its intended use, relies on a particularlytorsionally rigid body, these complex body reinforcements are of particularimportance.

The soft top of the “MANSORYAzura” (available in a range of fabric colours) opens and closes fullyelectrically; it is lined and therefore suitable for year-round use.

The necessary modificationsto the interior have also been carried out to OEM standards with great care andattention to detail: countless trim components, various seals and the vehicle’selectrical system have been modified or adapted to the new body shape.

MANSORY Azura | RIMS & TIRES

The “MANSORY Azura” isfitted with “FC.15” alloy wheels. The sizes of the wheels and tyres remainunchanged from those of the “MANSORY Speranza” (tyre size: 295/30R24 all round,wheel size: 10x24 all round). On the exhibition vehicle on display, the rimsfeature a two-tone paint finish (special request).

MANSORY Azura | PERFORMANCE

The engine fitted in the W465 has been upgraded with larger turbochargers and a high-performance exhaustsystem featuring newly designed downpipes. In conjunction with the reprogrammedengine electronics, the 4.0-litre V8 engine delivers an impressive 820 hp(standard: 585 hp) and maximum torque rises from the standard 850 Nm to a powerful1,150 Nm. Thanks to these impressive performance figures, the “MANSORY Azura”reaches 100 km/h from a standing start in a mere 4.0 seconds. The top speed islimited to 250 km/h.

MANSORY Azura | INTERIOR

Aswith all MANSORY complete conversions, the interior design can generally befreely chosen in terms of colour scheme, the type of leather used, thestitching on the leather surfaces and the design of the carbon fibrecomponents.

Therear compartment itself features a luxurious individual seating arrangementcombined with a customisable centre console.
